Syncthing – or synchronized everywhere

If you want all the important data to be synchronized between your devices, then this app is for you.

In connection with my HomeLab project, I got acquainted with a great software called Syncthing. This software helps you to synchronize certain folders between your devices. For example, you select a folder in your document folder called Syncthing that you want to sync. It is recommended to name folders with the same name on other computers, so you know exactly which folder is synchronized.

The point is that if you set up Syncthing on every machine, then this folder will behave like a teleport/clone app between machines. So what you drag into this folder is immediately available on other computers.

Why is that good?

What good is it if you have a centrally available touch that you upload everything to anyway? Well, convenience function. For example, if you work locally and on your A, but in the meantime you have to run to a client with your laptop B, for example, if you have worked in your synchronized folder, the latest version of that file is instantly available on the other computer.

So that's why it's so useful. However, you should be careful with the settings, because Syncthing normally follows any changes. So if you delete a file, it will be deleted from everywhere as soon as the machine gets to the network. So it is worth reviewing the documentation. However, it can be particularly useful in certain usecases.
